The Gift of The Blood

December 14, 2011 in Christmas

Merry Christmas!

This month at LifeForce (Matt & Alyssa’s student ministry at Words of Life Church in North Miami Beach, FL) Matt did a series on Gifts. Below is the message he did on the Blood of Christ and its ability to make us completely new.

We are Moving

November 8, 2011 in Great Commission, Making a Difference, Skunks TV

Dear Partners and Friends,

Over the last several years the Lord has been stirring our hearts for the youth in South Florida. South Florida is one of the most unreached areas in the United States.  As God continued to stir our hearts we took it to prayer. We knew that if God was in it that He would open an opportunity for us to reach them.

As you all know we have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the last six years and have had the opportunity to see many people come to the Lord throughout this region.  Yet, we knew that our time in Tulsa was for a season. This summer a great church in Miami, Words of Life, called us and asked if we would be their lead student pastors. After many months of prayer we knew this opportunity was from the Lord and the next move for our ministry.

Shull Ministries International will continue to go strong with all of our outreaches and events. Skunks TV, which now airs around the world through JCTV, will begin filming in Miami. For those of you who love watching the Dudes on Skunks TV you will not have to worry. They will continue to produce their segments in Tulsa. The remaining segments of the show will now be produced in Miami. We believe that our new studios in Miami will take the show quality to its highest level yet.

Also the Pink Lid will continue putting on conferences throughout the nation. Alyssa is very excited to see how the Lord uses The Pink Lid in Miami to reach a generation of girls who don’t know their value in God.  Miami is home to many young women who need Alyssa’s message of purity and holiness. There is a lot of work to be done, but Alyssa is excited for the opportunity to minister to more young women.

We will still be traveling to different churches throughout the nation holding healing services and special events. The only change is instead of every week, it will be the 4th and 5th weekend of each month.  The rest of the month we will be ministering locally at Words of Life Church in North Miami Beach, Florida.

We are so excited for this opportunity to reach the youth of Miami. They are in desperate need of the message we are bringing. In this club culture, these young people are searching for something to fill their voids and hide their pain. We believe God is going to use us to show them the power of God and His saving grace.

Partners, we need you more than ever before. First in prayer, please pray for the lost young people all over the globe who are tuning in to Skunks TV. Pray that the eyes of their hearts will open and they will come to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Pray for the young people of South Florida and strategies for us to reach them.

Second, we will continue to need your financial support to run Skunks TV. You literally enable us to air Skunks TV around the world. Young people are being set free from our energetic program and we could not do it without your faithful support.

Thank you in advance for your generous seeds into young people.  Our heart’s cry is for the lost, and with your support we are doing everything we can to reach them.

Reaching this generation together,

Matt & Alyssa Shull

3 Realities about Confidence

October 21, 2011 in Confidence, Relationships

Judges 18:6 The priest said to them, “Go with confidence. The LORD will be with you on your mission.” (NET)

1. Our confidence is rooted in the will of God. When you know that God is with you in your life and mission a feeling of excitement and confidence stirs in your heart. God is not a failure and when you align your life with Him you will cease to be a failure. Confidence can arise because you have His will on the matter. God’s presence and power always follows His will.

Job 31:24 If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, [Thou art] my confidence; (KJV)

2. Our confidence should never be placed in money. Many of us ‘say’ this, but we live like money is our God. When money is coming in, we’re happy and full of joy. However, if money has dried up we’re miserable and we live like we’ve been defeated. For the believer our confidence and great hope is not in money but in God. Put your confidence in God and not in money. Money will go up and down, God is stable and is able to elevate your life.

Psalms 118:8 [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. (KJV)

3. Like money people can fail us. We all have to put some level of confidence in people. However, the Psalmist says, “it’s better to trust in the Lord”. I love this, he acknowledges we put confidence in people (spouses, business partners, leaders, etc.) yet it’s far better to trust God. People will let us down, that is inevitable. However, God cannot lie or fail. Put your full confidence in the Lord today.

Love you all,

Killing a Critical Spirit

September 22, 2011 in Love

I want you to succeed in life. I’ve learned you will never reach your full potential in God if you have a critical spirit. I used to have a really critical spirit. I would pre-judge people, criticize other ministers and thought I had all the answers. My critical spirit peaked in college and about that time God began to sharply deal with me. Now I walk in love, mercy and understanding. Let me give you 3 reasons to kill a critical spirit:

1) It is not love. God has commanded us to love our neighbor. I’m convinced many believers are not walking this out on a daily basis.

James 2:8 “You are doing right if you obey this law from the highest authority: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” – (GWT)

2) You increase the judgement on your own life. The only life you’re really attacking is your own. God doesn’t judge someone else by what you say, but He will use your harsh words to judge you.

Matthew 7:2 – “Otherwise, you will be judged by the same standard you use to judge others. The standards you use for others will be applied to you.”

3) They don’t belong to you. Sometimes critical people think they are better than everyone else and that their judgement of someone or something is final. But only God’s judgement is final and His love is everlasting towards that life.

Romans 14:4 – “Who are you to criticize someone else’s servant? The Lord will determine whether his servant has been successful. The servant will be successful because the Lord makes him successful.”

Don’t allow a critical spirit to remain in you today. Replace it with the love of God. It’s amazing how your life will advance if you stop worrying about others and just get busy with your own destiny! Remember, small people talk about others, medium people talk about events, but big people talk about the future.

Don’t Count Yourself Out!

September 22, 2011 in Destiny, Great Commission, Making a Difference

Hello Partners and Friends,

Genesis 26:1-6; 12-14 – “Now there was a famine in the land—besides the earlier famine of Abraham’s time—and Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines in Gerar. The LORD appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; live in the land where I tell you to live. Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspringa all nations on earth will be blessed, because Abraham obeyed me and kept my requirements, my commands, my decrees and my laws.” So Isaac stayed in Gerar.”

“Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the LORD blessed him. The man became rich, and his wealth continued to grow until he became very wealthy. He had so many flocks and herds and servants that the Philistines envied him.” (NIV)

Right now the world is experiencing a famine. Governments are toppling, national debts and economic collapses, riots are taking place, they’re talking about a double-dip recession and on and on. However, we as the children of God are connected to a different Kingdom. We have access to a place that is doing just fine. However, if we’re not careful the famine mentality can get on us. Isaac was in the middle of the famine and he began to act like everyone else. He thought he had to go to Egypt and leave the land God had given him. In other words he decided to bail on his destiny to survive.

Please hear me out. Don’t bail on your destiny just to survive. God doesn’t want you surviving, He wants you thriving! He has a divine call on your life. He has placed you on the earth for such a time as this. Stay where God has planted you. Dream, build and sow your life in the direction God has you going and you will produce!

Several years ago Alyssa and I were experiencing a personal famine. We had no money and everything was going wrong around us. Yet God kept telling me to stay right where I was at and that He was going to bless. Today we’re reaching so many more people for God than we were even a year ago. I believe the main reason is because we obeyed the voice of God. Listen to the Holy Spirit, don’t bail on your destiny just yet and don’t count yourself out.

You Never Know

September 9, 2011 in JCTV, Making a Difference, Skunks TV

Hello Partners & Friends

Recently Phillip, one of our ‘Dudes on Skunks’, came back from a missions trip to Nigeria. While he was at the airport a Nigerian man, who was loading his luggage, stopped him and said, “Hey aren’t you on that show Skunks TV?” Phillip was surprised that the man recognized him and said “yeah I am.” When Phillip relayed the story to me I was reminded again, we never know who is watching.

Also this past month a lady came up to me and told me her 60 year-old brother watches us all the time. He’s been away from God for years and he has recently come back. She said that Skunks TV was one of the avenues that God used to open him back up to the gospel. Even though our show is aimed at a younger audience God is using it to reach people of all ages.

The powerful thing about God’s Word is that it can never come back without doing damage to the kingdom of darkness. Each time it is sown it accomplishes what God has sent it to do. Isaiah 55:11 “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” (NLT)

I’m believing God this year that brothels in India will tune in to Skunks TV. I’m asking God for the terrorists to watch an episode and receive Christ. I’m expecting warlords and peasants who have never heard the message before to be warmed by the message of God’s love. Let’s ask God for the hurting people around the world!

Thank you for your prayers and support. You are directly enabling us to send God’s words into the hearts of people around the world. Thank you for being a part of producing eternal fruit!

Matt & Alyssa Shull

We are now on JCTV

September 1, 2011 in JCTV, Making a Difference, Skunks TV

Hello Partners and Friends,

We’re very excited to share with you the great news that Skunks TV is now airing with JCTV. It has been a great honor for us to be picked up by this station. JCTV is in 45 million homes in America and throughout the world through satellite! We are airing with them on Tuesdays nights ( 10:30pm PT, 12:30am CT, 1:30am EDT ). This greatly expands our outreach. We’re so honored to be doing this and we have you to thank for standing with us. This past half-year we’ve seen incredible growth in our ministry. We have been able to begin airing in the Middle East via Nejat TV, in India through a cable network and now many other nations through JCTV. To see if you’ll get us on JCTV please click on their image to visit their website for airing times and station listings in your area.

Thank you again for all of your faithful prayers and giving. You enable us to send the gospel message around the world through media. We couldn’t do anything without your love and financial help. We are indebted to you and greatly appreciate you. God’s Word says, “But the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory like the water covers the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14 Thank you for being a part of fulfilling this verse.

We love you,

The Working Class

September 1, 2011 in Generation, Great Commission, Making a Difference

In our recession we are seeing a generation struggling to find work. We have a lack of jobs for all the workers who are eager to work. However, in the Kingdom of God we have a different problem. We have more work than we can imagine but we cannot seem to find the ‘workers’ who will get the job done.

Luke 10:2 – These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. (NLT)

Bill Wilson of Metro Ministries said recently, “If you’re going to plow a field do you want to use a 1000 chickens or 2 oxen?” Then he said, “Don’t be a chicken.” Many of us believers ‘chicken’ out of the Great Commission. I’m encouraging you today to not do this. You have the spirit of an ox on the inside of you. You are called to build God’s Kingdom and harvest His crop. Keep your hands to the plow and don’t look back.

We need a generation to be God’s “Working Class” and turn the Great Commission into the Great Completion. Jesus gave the commandment to disciple the world over 2,000 years ago and we have yet to fulfill this call. As each generation goes to heaven they have to explain to Jesus why they could not or would not fulfill this commission. I believe it is time for the church to embrace her first assignment and fulfill this command.

Let’s be about His business,

Matt and Alyssa Shull

Spheres of Influence

August 1, 2011 in Influence, Making a Difference

Mark 16:15,16 – “Then he said to them, “As you go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to everyone. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever doesn’t believe will be condemned.” (ISV) We are supposed to go into the entire world. In the ‘world’ there exists different spheres or circles of influence. There is the medical world, there is the life of a policeman, there is someone in the armed services world.

Because people are involved in different ‘worlds’ it is important for us to venture into their world and identify with them to lead them to Christ. This is why God has called His entire body to witness. The reality is that there are some people that have been burned by an evangelist and they will never listen to Alyssa and I. Others have been personally hurt by a pastor and so they will never listen to another pastor. Yet they might really look up to you because you are in their sphere. Jesus is asking all of us to fuse His message with our spheres of influence and take the gospel into every person’s world.

Thank you again for all of your faithful prayers and giving. You enable us to send the gospel message around the world through television. We are currently on three different international satellite/cable systems. Literally reaching a potential 3 billion people. We couldn’t do anything without your love and financial help. We greatly appreciate you! God’s Word says, “But the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord’s glory like the water covers the sea.” Habakkuk 2:14 Together we are fulfilling this verse.

We love you,
Matt & Alyssa Shull
