This past week I spoke on the story of David and Goliath and I wanted to share a few insights with you.
1) A Goliath (problem/trial/giant) will not go away by ignoring it. Goliath shouted and the army of Israel listened to his threats. When you listen to your problem you will always walk away intimidated. When you believe you can’t conquer the giant you will never make an action to battle.
1 Samuel 17:8-11 – “Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me. If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will … Read More »
Watch Now: Shattered a series by Matt about the love of God! 4 parts
Listen as Pastor Matt Shull shares how going to the beach is a lot like going to a worship service.
It has been three years since the Lord put Skunks TV on our hearts. When we started we didn’t even own a video camera. In spite of what we didn’t have, we stepped out in faith believing that if we just started working towards it God would provide. Little did we know that what started as a local show in Tulsa, OK would become what it is today in less than 3 years.
We have started filming our 6th season of Skunks TV, our 1st season filmed in Miami, FL. God has tremendously blessed Skunks TV in the move down here. When we left Tulsa and moved to Florida we were leaving behind an amazing team of around 20 volunteers. Moving to Florida was a big step of faith with the TV show. We were in need of new volunteers with … Read More »

Hello Partners and Friends,
I want to encourage you to kick the year off with the right attitude. We all go through disappointing experiences and tight situations in life. However, it’s important to not allow the disappointments or difficult times of the past decide our present attitude and future outlook.
As you go into 2012, consider these 3 truths about Attitude:
Is the “advance man” of our true selves.
Its roots are inward but its fruit is outward.
Is our best friend or worst enemy.
Is more honest and more consistent than our words.
Is an outward look based on past experiences.
Is a thing which draws people to us or repels them.
Is never content until it is expressed.
Is the librarian of our past.
Is the speaker of our present.
Is the prophet of our future.
– John Maxwell
2) Attitude Determines how you approach Life
“What is the difference between an … Read More »
Hello Partners and Friends,
Each year at this time I take extra time to pray and seek God’s guidance for the year. Last year the Lord told me it would be a year of ‘transition’ for our ministry. And let me tell you almost everything about our ministry went through a transition this year. Skunks TV was picked up by a cable system in India, we began airing on Nejat TV in the Middle East and we were also picked up by JCTV (the largest Christian youth network in the world).
God also transitioned our evangelistic efforts and local work. Many of you know we are now in Miami, FL serving as Student Pastors at Words of Life. We have been positioned to reach more people and reach them more effectively. I believe God has planted us to expand us. By joining … Read More »
This month at LifeForce (Matt & Alyssa’s student ministry at Words of Life Church in North Miami Beach, FL) Matt did a series on Gifts. Below is the message he did on the Blood of Christ and its ability to make us completely new.
Matt & Alyssa Shull
Dear Partners and Friends,
Over the last several years the Lord has been stirring our hearts for the youth in South Florida. South Florida is one of the most unreached areas in the United States. As God continued to stir our hearts we took it to prayer. We knew that if God was in it that He would open an opportunity for us to reach them.
As you all know we have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the last six years and have had the opportunity to see many people come to the Lord throughout this region. Yet, we knew that our time in Tulsa was for a season. This summer a great church in Miami, Words of Life, called us and asked if we would be their lead student pastors. After many months of prayer we knew this opportunity was from … Read More »
Judges 18:6 The priest said to them, “Go with confidence. The LORD will be with you on your mission.” (NET)
1. Our confidence is rooted in the will of God. When you know that God is with you in your life and mission a feeling of excitement and confidence stirs in your heart. God is not a failure and when you align your life with Him you will cease to be a failure. Confidence can arise because you have His will on the matter. God’s presence and power always follows His will.
Job 31:24 If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, [Thou art] my confidence; (KJV)
2. Our confidence should never be placed in money. Many of us ‘say’ this, but we live like money is our God. When money is coming in, we’re happy and … Read More »
